Home Bound.
So I am heading home today! Back to the seaside! It has been too long and I look forward to spending time with my family and friends (oh, and Sally the cat). My original plan of packing a capsule suitcase has failed, but that's fine. When I am home I'm going to complete Less Than Zero and start on The Informers. Anyway...
MOVIE OF THE WEEK:Star Trek!
AUTHOR OF THE WEEK:Bret Easton Ellis (obviously)!
MUSIC ARTIST OF THE WEEK:Ellie Goulding!
FYI: I'm in love with Zachary Quinto...

"...there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory..."
One of my favourite books of all time would most certainly have to be Bret Easton Ellis's American Psycho. I think Ellis is blossoming into one of my all time favourite authors. I read Lunar Park over Christmas, it terrified me and pretty much broke my heart. I'm currently reading Less Than Zero; protagonist is almost there... It's difficult to explain but it's pretty evident that Ellis has made Clay 'less' on purpose. Every time that Clay slips up (emotionally) I want to hold on to his every word.
But, as I said, American Psycho is my all time favourite. It's hilarious, satirical and horrendously violent and pornographic. I think what I loved most about the book was that Patrick Bateman was constantly on the verge of absolute madness, and every time he was tipping over the edge, about to slip, you were on there on the edge with him begging him to come back.
Once I've finished Less Than Zero I'm going to dive into The Informers (in courtesy of Emily, my good friend). Me and Emily are both very excited about Ellis's next novel- Imperial Bedrooms, a sequel to Less Than Zero. The first line of Imperial Bedrooms has been released:
"They had made a movie about us."

"The moment I first met you I saw you were quite unconsious of what you really are, of what you really might be..."

Well I thought I'd at least say a little about myself.
My dream is, of course, to become a writer of some kind. I'll warn you now my grammar is pretty poor but I'm working it...
Don't get me wrong my friends, I'm not arrogant enough to think my life is soooo interesting that people will want to read about it. I'm starting this blog as some kind of practice... an outlet, I guess. I'm currently writing a set of science-fiction novels, but I won't go into those just yet...
I think I'll use this blog to record what I find beautiful and inspirational- art, literature, photography, fashion, travel and people.
So finally I have done it.
I've been thinking about blogging for a while. Well ever since I noticed people actually read my myspace blog (yes I still have myspace). Anyway I'll post more interesting things soon. Watch this space.
